My Gear

Please find below a comprehensive list of everything I will be taking on the trip!  The total weight of all of the gear listed is 96 pounds when the water bottles are full.  This is the gross weight of the bicycle with all of the gear strapped to it.  The bike weighs 30 pounds while the four pannier bags and handlebar bag weigh 13 pounds empty.  This leaves 53 pounds of just gear.  Add to this food!  Fortunately for me, it will not be necessary for my fellow riders (when with me) to carry most of these items, so we will share in the weight.  The cold weather gear, the bear canister/spray, and a few tubes/miscellaneous items will be mailed home once I make it through the Yukon, shedding approximately eight to twelve pounds.
